About Andy Barca
Andy Barca grew up with a suitcase half-packed and a passport never far from reach. Born in the UK, he travelled widely with his parents from an early age—picking up languages along the way and developing a fascination with the wider world that never faded. Trained as a historian, he remains captivated by the past and the ways it echoes through the present. He still prefers to write on the road, chasing new perspectives in unexpected locations, and it is the people he meets—their hopes, struggles and quiet acts of courage—that most deeply inspire his stories.
Why this book
In The Butterfly Effect, small events refuse to stay small. A single crime in one city ripples through borders, markets and ministries as leaders cling to power, crowds move in herds and the same old human instincts play out beneath new technology and slogans. The book follows one chain of consequences all the way through, to show how unchanging patterns of behaviour quietly shape the world we wake up in.
